When this iconic and renowned boutique hotel, set in the heart of Glasgow’s bustling city centre, needed a new main entrance to replace the failed double-curved bi-parting entrance, the DSS Bespoke Doors design team took on the challenge of designing and building the replacement and meeting the extra test of installing the new door with the minimum of disruption to the hotel's operations.

Princes Square

Grosvenor Building Glasgow

One of the biggest issues facing developers of historic buildings in cities is the discreet integration of today’s demands for disabled access, modern security and access control systems into buildings being given a new lease of life through modernisation and development.

London School of English

When the prestigious London School of English in Kensington needed a specially made inner entrance solution to address the issue of security and environmental control, the challenge of overcoming extremely demanding technical issues were addressed by DSS designers who provided a three metre wide, 180 curve bi-parting door solution which would integrate with the existing architectural features and do so without structural adaptations to the building's grand internal entrance.

Kirklands NHS

When the entrance to a department at the NHS Kirklands Hospital was at the planning stages, the architect wanted to introduce as much light as possible into the reception area. To assist him, DSS was able to glass mount the operator for the bi-parting doors using discrete stainless steel fixings, making the operator float over the door leaves and side screens, allowing as much light as possible into the area.

Falkirk Council Sports Centre / Swimming Pool

Swing doors are often used when a degree of fire resistance is required and this was the case when the joining doors from reception to pool side at Falkirk Council's Grangemouth Swimming Pool was constructed in the 1980s.

Dundee Heritage Trust

One of Scotland’s finest award winning museums, the home of Scott's Antarctic sailing ship, Discovery, needed to address the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) in 2011 and asked DSS to provide a solution that would blend into the architecturally significant façade of the museum, on the banks of the River Tay in Dundee.
