Team DSS marathon fundraising effort

A team of DSS staff is tackling various challenges at the Edinburgh Marathon Festival on 29th May to raise funds for the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.

The team of 16, led by Finance Manager Kay Conneff, is hoping to complete the gruelling 10k challenge in support of the charity, after Kay’s 18-month old nephew received vital care in the Intensive Care Unit at Glasgow’s Royal Hospital for Children.

Kay, who will be running the full 26-mile marathon said: “My nephew became very sick and had to be placed in a medically-induced coma following surgery for a bacterial infection called necrotizing fasciitis.

“The staff at the RHC ICU were fantastic and my nephew is now being cared for by the plastic surgery staff.”

A special JustGiving page has been set up, where anyone can make a donation to support the DSS team.

DSS Managing Director John Graham added: “Kay’s nephew required specialist treatment and support, something many charities can’t provide without the ongoing support of fundraisers.

“I’m proud to be part of the team, which includes staff members from all areas of the business and of varying fitness levels, and any donations will be very much appreciated and can be pledged through the Team DSS JustGiving page.”
